About the property This fantastic property underwent a renovation project, led by a renowned architect, to build his own residence, emphasizing the contemporary aesthetics and functionality of a house to be lived in on a daily basis. This project received two important architecture awards (Best Private Project and Rehabilitation in Housing Construction) and sought to recognize and identify a historic house from 1923, and contemporary values ??with elegance and practicality. The project faced a great challenge, with the objective of understanding the techniques and materials of the time, which were mandatory for this type of construction. Therefore, natural, ecological materials with low energy consumption were used. There was a concern to preserve the external walls, built with handmade brick and stone, which were coated with limestone sand mortar mixed with crushed cork to improve the thermal factor. All the internal spaces of this house with a gross area of ??482m² and usable area of ??414m² were completely renovated and are lit by the windows of the old facade. On the ground floor, where we find spacious living and dining rooms, a fully equipped kitchen with MIELE appliances, a guest bathroom and an office, the introduction of a wooden structure was the solution found to compartmentalize and define the different spaces, separating them into a kind of open space with discreet boundaries. In this same structure, steps were carved that give access to new modules on the upper floors, where there is the master suite, two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, laundry room and terrace, and a large attic with a full bathroom and possibilities for installing a master suite, another bedroom and multipurpose room. Natural tones predominate, creating a bright, spacious and serene environment, in harmony with the exterior, one of the most outstanding areas of the house. In the garden, with a wooden deck supporting the dark-toned swimming pool, it underscores the elegance of the space, where flowers and plants add a touch of color and increase comfort and privacy. There is also a garage with a charger for electric vehicles and an annex building measuring 25 m², which can be used as a gym, workshop, among others. The result is a Portuguese home designed in a refined and formal style, where contemporary interiors coexist in harmony with the historic structure of the house.
